Volcanic lava stones made of natural stone that come from the froth of volcanoes, there is about enough in one bag for one chimenea, they come in various sizes in bags of 4 litres. This means there are different amounts of stones per bag.
What are lava stones?
Volcanic lava stones are pumice formed from the froth of molten rock in volcanoes. They are lightweight with excellent insulation properties. Furthermore when it comes to lava stones the lighter they are the better the grade quality.
What it is used for?
Lava stones are helpful to prevent thermal shock to the chimenea. It does by preventing the hottest part of the chimenea touching the base of the chimenea. They also help to retain heat (to an extent) so you don’t need as big a fire and as the heat is retained in the lava stones the heat can last a while longer without needing to add more wood to the fire.
Compatibility
The lava stones are compatible with all chimeneas that we offer, they can also be used in firepits. This includes all the shapes of chimeneas whether they are large, extra-large or Jumbo. As well as the more extravagant designs we have such as the gota design.
Is it reusable?
The lava stones are reusable, they can be used time and again as they do not burn. If you should want you can clean the lava stones without difficulty and provided they aren’t soaked when lighting your next fire will work just as well.
How to use lava stones?
In order to use the lava stones place the contents of one bag on to the base of the chimenea, then build your fire on top. Make sure the lava stones are evenly spread-out (as much as they can)
